Name: Captain Jack Sparrow, savvy?
Age (if known): The sea wears away at one so it becomes hard to tell but in truth he is around 38-42.
History: Not much was known about Jack until he sailed into Tortuga with a mind to go after the treasure of Isla de Muetre which is French for the Island of Death. It is said his father was a pirate, one really doesn't know, and his mother a sleeper. Raised half by the streets, and half by the sea and his father he grew into one might call a king among captains, and a captain among pirates. Before giving his soul to the seas for the rest of his life some believe he may have been a cartographer, which led him to the name Isla de Muerta. He saddled up a deal, for a ship, with Davy Jones and sailed into the horizon. Mutiny occurred after he gave up the bearings and he spent three days rotting and drinking in the middle of the Caribbean. The rest of his story is both a mystery and slightly apparent from there.
Appearance (a picture will do fine): One may look at Jack and say ‘that man is beyond drunk’. His hands are unable to keep from fidgeting and more often than not hit some innocent bystander as he flings them to accent certain worlds in his surprisingly clear speech. To start with his appearance, one might take him for a cannibal at first unless he has the black, weathered tricorn on. A red bandanna, no longer bright for the sun has sucked it dry of color, covers his forehead and hints at his forehead being rather large for it only reaches to about the middle of the top of his head. A bit of string is attached to the top part of the ragged clothe and hung from it dangles different colored beads and it ends with a piece of silver. His hair hangs in dreadlocks, for pirates do not have time to bathe. The black locks are so dark however, and untidy, that one finds it hard to see that he has the dreadlocks at all. Braided within his raven pigment is a long piece of bone as well as other various bangles and dangles. His beard is split into two pieces, each as odd as the rest of his get up with beads hung into their braided strands.
As for his torso, let us start at the bottom. A dirty white, loose shirt lays open with not a care in the world. His once black vest, now a dark grey, blue, black color is held to his body with a ragged, terribly long piece of red striped cloth that appears to be a white color. That, in turn, is held together by a large belt that is loosely buckled and hangs sideways across his hips. Long, slightly loose breeches lay tucked into a pair of top-flap boots that are a dust covered brown. Around his right wrist a black piece of fabric that is frayed and wraps around several times and also wraps around between his thumb and forefinger. The collared coat has a very large, three-buttoned cuff and is made of a fairly coarse gray material. There are three large buttonholes in the cuff itself which are stitched with a yellowy-cream thread. The coat is knee-length and has a lining. His sword's scabbard is worn on a strap that goes over the right shoulder and has a large gold buckle which is just below shoulder height. It is made of black leather.
Personality: What does one really know about his Captain? He acts as if he knows nothing, and walks with a drunken step. Insanity is said to be his only outstanding feature, yet he has managed to defeat the cursed immortals and stay alive. Some claim that it is just rotten luck, but in truth Jack is intelligent, dishonest, and at the same time anything but divine. He knows his priorities, himself, his ship, and a few who he knows he owes a debt to.
Lies area daily practice to him, and instead of running headfirst into a nasty situation he plays with pawns on both ends of the field, the triad in a game called Intrigue, the unexpected and the one with allegiance to no one. He also is somewhat indecisive as one saw aboard the Black Pearl while they chased after Elizabeth and Will. Forgetful at times, thanks to a stroke when he was stranded, he actually does forget. Jack walks the fine line between being insane and being a genius, and more than often is both.
Example RP (one or two paragraphs): Completely unbelieveable - that's what anyone would have said had they been there to witness the infamous pirate resurfacing in the crystal clear waters of the ocean. But no one was there.
Captain Jack Sparrow had endured a rough battle with the Kraken, a tentacled creature that he had believed to be mere myth. Of course, that was only until he was enveloped by the beast after being chained to the mast of the Black Pearl by Elizabeth. Yet it was probably best that things had happened that way, for aformentioned governor's daughter, Will and the rest of the Pearl's crew had escaped safely. If Elizabeth had not in fact fastened him aboard his beloved ship, all of them could have lost their lives. Now none of them had, although Jack presumed that they thought him dead. Anyone in their right mind would, after all.
Jack couldn't help but think back to that fateful moment; actually the predecessor to it. Had Elizabeth succumbed to curiosity like he had predicted (or rather just made up some bunch of nonsense in order to seduce her)? Or did she really hold some semblance of feelings? Doubtful, the captain thought to himself as he treaded water in attempts to keep himself afloat. She was engaged to be married to dear William anyways, and Jack had almost ripped the two apart by tricking Will to retrieve the key from Davy Jones. Did he feel remorseful? A bit, but he was Captain Jack Sparrow - to the world he said that he was fine with it. Yet no more thoughts of Will, Elizabeth or the rest of the crew crossed his mind; for the time being, Jack had to figure out how to maintain his current state and not drift back down to meet Davy Jones.
Even though he was alive, Captain Jack Sparrow remained apprehensive. He coughed up a bit of ocean water, sputtering as he pushed his dark locks out of his eyes. Not only was he floating in the middle of an enormous body of water, but he had absolutely no semblance of his bearings; not to mention that land seemed to be nowhere in the near vicinity or in sight. Well, it certainly seemed that Jack was in quite the quagmire. Hopefully, Will, Elizabeth and the others were on his trail, searching desperately for him.
But for now, all the thoughts that entertained his mind were clouded with worry and doubt. "Oh bugger."
