Name: Robert 'Bert' James Allman
Age: 25
Parents: Thomas and Katherine Allman
Pirate or No Pirate (we can't all be pirates): PIRATE! ARGH!
History:
Robert, or Bert as most know him, was born on October 31st. Which is also All Hallow's Eve. He was born to a family of well to do merchants in England. His father's name was Thomas Allman, who came from a long line of merchants. On a crossing to France, Thomas met the undescribably beautiful lady, Katherine Edourde. They had only spent two months in eachother's company before deciding to wed, but anyone could see how in love they were with one another. Katherine agreed almost instantly to sail back with him to his home in England. They were quickly wed, and soon after, a baby boy was born. This boy was named after his grandfather, Robert. When Robert had turned 4, another boy was born named after his father, Thomas. Thomas was Bert's best friend, the one person he trusted with his dreams and hopes. It was the one person he was willing to protect and die for.
Bert was taught how to lead the life of a good, respectable citizen. He was taught to obey laws, be courtesy, and of course, hardworking. Yet, he was always the rebellious type. He caused trouble all over his town, and was known for sly and cunning ways. He was very mischevious, and still is today. Bert always knew he was to become a merchant, like his father, and his father's father. He was to bring honor to his family's name and keep the merchant line from failing. Bert took no interest in being a merchant though. He believed there to be much more to life than that. He wanted to travel the world as he pleased, do what he saw necessary to survive, and live his life with danger and adventure around every corner. A time soon came when he was able to escape his old life.
Thomas was suddenly struck with the Plague, and became extremely ill. Bert was by his side as often as possible, for as much as he rebelled against the life his father wanted him to take, Bert still loved his father. Thomas soon passed away though, leaving behind his two sons and his heartbroken wife. Katherine withdrew from the rest of the world, drowning herself in sorrow and despair. Nothing Bert did could save her and bring her back to him. Then came the day when she no longer recognized her own sons, having been secluded for so long she was driven to the brink of insanity. She had become deathly ill as well. Bert knew his mother did not have much time left to live, and when she passed on, he and his brother, Tom, would be dragged to live with another relative, or perhaps an orphange. He would not accept that fate.
At age 15, Bert said good-bye to his ill mother and left his home for good. He felt guilty for leaving Thomas, but Tom understood why his brother was leaving. He stayed behind to look after their sick mother, but Bert vowed he would find Thomas again and take him along with him. He kept his head held high and didn't look back. He managed to stow away on a ship that docked at Tortuga. Once there, Bert managed to converse his way onto a pirate ship by becoming the cabin boy. He remained there until he reached 17, where he entered himself into another crew. He recieved word shortly after that his mother had passed away. He had now lost both parents and with much sorrow in his heart, he turned to the only thing he had left, and that was the sea. He didn't know where his brother Thomas was. The only word he recieved of Thomas Allman, Jr. was that the boy had disappeared from the town as soon as his mother passed on. Bert knew Thomas had set out to find a new life, and to find him as well. Bert began searching for Tom at every port, hoping to find his lost, younger brother.
Bert soon came to call pirating a way of life. He loved and enjoyed very moment of it. The adventure, the sea, everything was all his dreams had hoped for. The one thing he wanted above anything else, was to join the crew of infamous pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow. He had the stories, and heard of the dangers and adventures Captain Jack and his crew faced. He longed for a taste. And he soon recieved that. After docking at Tortuge once more, Bert found Captain Jack Sparrow signing on new crew hands. Bert was one of the first to put his name down, ready to set sail for new adventures.

Example RP (one or two paragraphs):
((As Luke Williams on Rictasempra, a Harry Potter based RPG!))
Luke Williams trudged along the sidewalk, kicking pebbles, his hands shoved deep into the pockets of his High School letterman's jacket. A warm breeze whispered past, rustling the leaves of the trees overhead. The night was calm, the only sound now and then was that of a passing car, or the distant barking of a family's dog.
Calm. That was what Luke needed the most right now. He always snuck out after dark, just to take a walk...to clear his thoughts and ponder his life and where he was headed. Everyone thought he had everything a kid could ever want. The perfect family, the decent 3.0 grade average, the looks, the right friends, and he was a talented baseball player. Everyone thought they knew how great his life was. Well, they had no idea how wrong they all were.
All his life he had been pushed around by his parents. They never cared to listen to what he wanted. All they cared about was what they wanted for him. The best. Everything had to be the best. And it didn't help he was living in the shadow of his brother, Conner. Everyone expected him to live up to Conner's perfect reputation....Well Luke wasn't anything like his older brother and he never would be.
And as for his own reputation....he could have cared less. He didn't want to be this stereotypical, High School jock. But then again, he didn't want everyone to see him as the misunderstood, popular kid....only acting this out for more attention....because that wasn't true either. All he wanted was for someone to understand that he was more than just what everyone saw him as.....there was more to Luke Williams than that.
Luke sighed heavily, running a hand through his already tossled, dark brown hair. He reached the street corner, barely lit by a street lamp, and turned....headed towards the neighborhood park. It was his thinking spot and he could usually count on it being abandoned at night.
Which was why he was surprised to see a small figure sitting on the swings....He squinted his eyes at the person as he neared the playground. He recognized her as a girl from her school. Her name was Elizabeth....or he was pretty sure it was. She didn't talk much, but he saw her enough at school to know who she was.
Luke hesitated, wondering whether he should just turn around and head back home because it look as though she didn't want any company, or take a risk and sit next to her. He wondered if she came here often....If she did, he had never seen her there before.
Luke sighed again and strolled toward the swing set. This was his place to think, and that's what he needed to do right now. He sat down on the open swing next to her, dragging his feet in the dirt as the swing moved ever so slightly. It was quiet for a few moments, but not an akward silence....just plain silence.
" Hi." He finally said, staring up at the cloudy, night sky.
